Director Of Operations

What You’ll Do:

Supplier Management

Manage existing and new vendor and supplier relationships which includes controlling costs, reducing vendor related risks, and ensuring service delivery according to SLA. Arrange for the purchase of raw materials, supplies and services as needed for current and future products based on best cost, selection, service, company values, distribution capabilities and availability.

Production Management

Track production process and monitor for non-conformities. Ensure on-time and accurate delivery of product to customers with exceptional quality.  Track the progress of all shipments and address problems as needed.  Follow up with vendors in supply chain to meet timetables and customers’ expectations.  Look for ways to automate current procedures.

Inventory Management

Analyze data and make informed decisions regarding product line management, including UPC/SKU sell through, discontinuation, and re-orders. Maintain SKU master, bill of materials and obsolete products.  Ensure raw and finished good inventory accuracy. Manage relationship with 3PL, including order upload to WMS, inventory validation, keeping a close eye on inbound as well as outbound shipments. Communicate ATS to sales team.

Personnel Management

You’ll look for ways to automate time/labor tracking from ordering, and reporting.  You will work closely with key decision makers to help build out our team of talent.  You’ll help with interviewing and sending offers to both full-time and freelance candidates across teams and geographies.

What You’ll Bring:

Technical skills: Everyone stretches to the top of their game when they work with you.  Raise the bar so others will follow.  You geek out on systems and sweat the details, never losing steam on a project.  Advanced skills in maintaining and developing Microsoft excel sheets (writing formulas and managing data). Analytical mind that allows applicant to process information quickly.  Ability to review financial statements, direct budget planning, improve profitability and maximize employee efficiency. Proven record of forecasting future needs.  Document business rhythms for repeatable success.

Communication skills: Extraordinary emotion intelligence; a natural empathy for fellow humans and an uncanny ability to read people and anticipate their needs, hopes and dreams.  Exceptional communication skills across all channels (phone, in-person, email, Slack); and the ability to build trust and instant rapport with leaders and staff.  Genuine enthusiasm and dedication for diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives and programs. Experienced with supply chain terminology and communicating with vendors, shippers, producers, fulfillment, and other 3rd party service providers. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Quality of work:  5 + years demonstrated experience leading teams.  You connect everything you do to the goals of the brand.  Accurate record keeping, detail oriented & organized.  Ability to follow standard operating procedures and handle a variety of tasks and varying priorities. Ability to move quickly to prove out ideas. Curiosity, humility, and a passion for doing great work.
