The Nanooks first discovered NoSo through a local ski shop named Beaver Sports. “We saw the gear repair patches there and saw the potential for the product. It was more than just patching damaged equipment,” UAF Athletics said. “Although we use them for that too!”
Once UAF Athletics saw the opportunity for custom patches, they started working with the NoSo team to develop their designs. “Working with the design team was super easy,” UAF Athletics said. The folks at UAF Athletics were so happy with the results, that they even sent back some photos of the patches in action.
These eco-friendly repair patches proudly showcase the Nanooks’ identity and team spirit. They became so popular that UAF quickly placed a second order. And they didn’t stop there. “We also created a more generic ‘Rule The North’ version that our cross-country running team can use as well,” they added.
These patches have found their way onto just about everything. “We put them on rain jackets, ski bags, drink belts, luggage, and even ski boots!” UAF Athletics shared. Think of them as little emblems of pride and practicality, ensuring the Nanooks’ brand is seen far and wide, from ski slopes to airports.
And they’ve got another big benefit: Affordability. The patches have saved UAF Athletics money compared to traditional embroidery. Better yet, the versatility of NoSo Patches allows the university to put its branding on unconventional items like drink belts, adding a quirky, fun touch to its gear.
