We love our pets. We get so much joy out of watching our dogs get the zoomies or our cats purring away on our laps. It’s truly an awesome thing to have a four-legged critter as part of the family.
But that’s not to say pet ownership isn’t without its headaches. Puppies chew through our favorite pair of socks and cats claw at our furniture. Sometimes it’s not even our stuff they destroy. Sometimes it’s their stuff too.
Pet gear and clothing are growing in popularity, especially for outdoor enthusiasts who like to take their furry buddies out too. Common examples of wearable pet gear include harnesses, packs, and lifejackets—not to mention at-home pet goods like beds.
Each of these items is vulnerable to gnawing teeth and curious claws. Combine that with the inevitability of stains, rips, tears, and holes and you begin to see how much damage pet gear is likely to encounter.
At NoSo, we’ve had lots of customers share how essential they find our repair patches specifically for their pet gear and clothing! Now that’s a novel idea that we loved hearing about. So, here are a few ways folks are using NoSo Patches to repair pet gear and clothing.

Repairing Pet Clothing and Gear with NoSo Patches
NoSo is your “no sew” solution to repairing outdoor gear and clothing. Humans use our patches for all kinds of things—from repairing puffy jackets and backpacks to adding a bit of personality to their wardrobes.
Some folks even use our patches to fix blankets for horses. And—of course—they also work for the litter animals in our lives.
Here’s how simple it is to apply a NoSo Patch:
- Identify the damage you want to repair. Maybe it’s a hole in the cat’s bed, a snag in a doggy harness, or a puncture in the Ruffwear life jacket.
- Prep the area. Trim loose fibers, clear away fur and debris, or reinsert errant stuffing. If the area is especially dirty, an alcohol wipe can help.
- Peel and place the NoSo Patch over the damaged area. Just like a sticker!
- Smooth the patch from the center to the edges. If it’s an especially big hole, you can sandwich patches on either side.
- Heat the area for a permanent fix. Examples include 30 seconds with a hairdryer or 20 minutes in direct sunlight on a hot day. The heat fully activates the adhesive. But if you’re on the go, you can do this step later.
And there you have it. The quickest, easiest, no-sewing way to repair clothing and gear for your pets.
